In short: Connect English does not require an account and does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Learning progress and preferences are stored locally on your device.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how TaalayDev ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Connect English mobile or desktop application (the "App").
2. Information stored on your device
The App stores the following information locally so its learning features work:
- your chosen display name and English level;
- language, accessibility, audio, text, and voice preferences;
- completed stories and lessons, saved vocabulary, and Premium entitlement state; and
- autosaves and manual story progress.
This information is not sent to or stored on servers operated by us. You can remove it by deleting the App or clearing its local data where your operating system provides that option.
3. Purchases
The optional Premium unlock is processed by the store through which you obtained the App, such as Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The store may provide the App with product, transaction, purchase, and restoration status needed to unlock purchased content. The store handles this information under its own privacy policy.
4. Text-to-speech and audio
Connect English can ask your operating system's text-to-speech service to read lesson text aloud. The App does not record your voice and does not request microphone access. Availability and processing of system voices are controlled by your device and operating-system provider.
5. Fonts and external links
The App may retrieve font files from Google Fonts. When such a request occurs, Google may receive standard network information, such as your IP address and request details, under the Google Privacy Policy.
The Credits screen contains links to third-party websites. Those links open only when you choose them. We do not control those sites or their privacy practices.
6. Data we do not collect
We do not operate user accounts or collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera data, microphone recordings, advertising identifiers, or browsing history. The current version does not include third-party advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking.
7. Retention and deletion
Learning data remains on your device until you reset it or remove the App. Purchase records are retained by the applicable app store according to that store's policies and legal obligations. Because we do not hold a server-side user profile, we generally have no account data to retrieve or delete on your behalf.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can address the issue.
9. Security
We design the App to minimize data collection. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security for data handled by your device, operating-system provider, or app store.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively.
